The Society installs Shamanic Clergy who are licensed to perform weddings and other ceremonial transitional ceremonies as prescribed by the Society.
Each Minister designated with the Traditional Title of Aoghair through wisdom and ceremony is installed and is licensed as Shamanic Clergy by the Sacred Circle of the Great Mystery Shamanic Society and is charged with all duties and responsibilities of that office which is to provide pastoral guidance and appropriate chaplaincy to the community and its members.
Pursuant in that license under law is the understanding and holding to the Tradition of Shamanic Pastoral Ministry, its calling, duties, and responsibilities. And to keep, maintain and inform centrally and in accordance with the laws and statutes of the state, province, and country, all necessary records pertaining to Weddings, Namings, Funerals, Initiations and Transition Ceremonies.
Each acts in service of the Community and not in self service.
The Traditional Aoghair defines one who gathers and tends. The symbol of ‘office’ depicts the interaction and intervention of the Divine and the Mundane.
