The Society installs Animist Clergy who are licensed to perform weddings and other ceremonial transitional ceremonies as prescribed by the Society.
Each Minister designated with the Traditional Title of Aoghair through wisdom and ceremony is installed and is licensed as Animist Clergy by the Sacred Circle of the Great Mystery and is charged with all duties and responsibilities of that office which is to provide pastoral guidance and appropriate chaplaincy to the community and its members.
Pursuant in that license under law is the understanding and holding to the Tradition of Animist Pastoral Ministry, its calling, duties, and responsibilities. And to keep, maintain and inform centrally and in accordance with the laws and statutes of the state, province, and country, all necessary records pertaining to Weddings, Namings, Funerals, Initiations and Transition Ceremonies.
All ceremonies are underpinned by the oral tradition of the Sagh’ic; wedding rituals re-enact the stories of love between the The First Male & Female Hunters of The Forest, The Two Warriors and the Two Daughters of the Waterfall; Funerary Rites on the journey across the Land of the Dead to the Ancestral Land; Transition rites of Birth for Women & Men, Rites of Passage and Rituals of Intervention.
Each Aoghair acts in common service of the Community and not in self service.
As part of this service the Aoghair have instigated Soitheach Paidreacha, literally a ‘vessel of prayers’.
In reality this is a list of names for which a tending ritual is undertaken daily and, for 24 hours a day every day, the names are held in silent tending by the Aoghair as a whole.
If any would like the names of those who are sick, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually,
please email just the name to email@example.com
Traditional Aoghair defines one who gathers and tends. The symbol of ‘office’ depicts the interaction and intervention of the Divine and the Mundane.
